Few days ago microsoft published a website called how-old.net which went viral yesterday in the social networks like facebook and twitter

What the website does is, it let you upload a photo or you can search bing for photo's or use some of the photo's on their website. After choosing the picture to use the website analyses the picture to guess your age and gender.

The inventors were expecting about 50 people will use this site, but they got a real shock when they got over 35,000 users of this site.

The real deal was to create a new api for gender and age detection for the programming world and site how-old.net was a demo for it. you can read more about the api in this page.

how-old.net went viral, this doesn't mean that everyone liked it. I saw my people using this and posting the pic on some social media, and some people didn't like how the #HowOldRobot guessed their age. People all over the world tried it and some people just didn't like it.

The negative comments started a rumor about Microsoft using the uploaded pictures of you for their advertisement purposes. Because of the rumor now the website says "P.S. We don't keep the photo".

If you doubt that its safe you can read their Terms of Use.

Just have some fun and ask #HowOldRobot your age or someone else. For what I know its safe and fun to use. If you didn't know the link already its how-old.net.
